When should I seek services for my young child?

As soon as there is a concern. Therapy may be warranted for even the youngest communicators, and if it’s not, we will let you know. Can I go through/use my insurance?

Empathia Speech Therapy does not accept insurance at this time, but can provide you with a superbill, which can be used to seek reimbursement through your insurance provider. Contact me for further information regarding insurance for CSU Temple Grandin Equine therapy Center interests.

We provide in-home services, telehealth and specialized nature-based environments throughout Denver and surrounding areas of CO, working with your child/loved one in their everyday, natural environment.

What is Hippotherapy?

“Hippos” was the ancient Greek word for horse. Hippotherapy literally means ‘treatment with the help of a horse’. The term hippotherapy refers to how occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology professionals use evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning in the purposeful manipulation of equine movement as a therapy tool to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes. Best practice dictates that speech-language pathology professionals integrate hippotherapy into the patient’s plan of care, along with other therapy tools and/or strategies.

​​Do you provide written reports?

An evaluation report will be written after the initial assessment, and will include the outcomes of the assessment, recommendations and proposed goals to be addressed in therapy, should therapy be warranted. Progress reports are written every 6 months, detailing progress made towards goals and adjustments of goals for recommendations moving forward.
